Water For People, a non-profit organization, is hosting the 2nd Annual Run For World Water at Kiwanis Park, City of Tempe on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
The Run for World Water will consist of a 5K Run, followed by a 1K Walk, and will finish with a Kid's Lollipop Run. There will be a DJ, face painting for the kids, free massage and snacks!
T-shirts and goodie bags will be provided for all 5K and 1K pre-registrants and while supplies for late registrants.
See Course Layouts for a layout of the courses. After the three events, an Awards Ceremony will be held. A prize also goes to the company with the most registered participants.

MISCELLANEOUS

Location of race is at Kiwanis Park, at Baseline Road and Ash Avenue (west of Mill Avenue)

I.D. is not required for check-in on Race Day.

Race starting area will be crowded, please line up early and according to your expected pace.

Dogs and strollers are only allowed in the 1K Walk. Bikes, roller blades, and anything else with wheels will NOT be permitted on either course. Clean up after your pet.

Location of restrooms, registration table, food tables, and parking areas are shown in Course_Layouts. Parking is free and limited, carpooling is highly recommended.

The course has varied terrain that includes grass, dirt, sidewalks, and side elevation changes.

Headphones, earbuds, and etc. are discouraged. If used, please leave one ear free for safety.

Water bottles, granola bars, bagels, and fresh fruit will be available.
PRIZES
Prizes will be given to the 1st place male and female finishers of the 5K Run in the following age categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
A prize will go to the company with the most registered participants.
PROCEEDS
All proceeds will benefit Water For People, a non-profit organization, with the main mission of supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water facilities, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs in developing countries.
Currently, the organization is working in 11 countries: Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi in Africa; the state of West Bengal in India; Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Central America; Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador in South America.
